He has an innovative and fresh approach to his practice in the art of jiu-jitsu and continues to grow in his practice by staying connected with fellow practitioners at nearby jiu-jitsu schools.Β Currently, he co-teaches Advanced GI Jiu-Jitsu at Twin Rivers BJJ. He loves jiu-jitsu because it keeps him physically and mentally fit. Twin Rivers BJJ is like an extended family that sweats and bleeds together. #ππ€ π

Hi everyone, I'm Aaron. I began training on and off since 2012, but started back up with Twin Rivers BJJ in 2022. I am currently a blue belt and teach the Fundamentals BJJ class. I have a background in wrestling and amateur MMA. Outside of jiu-jitsu, I enjoy writing country music and spending time with my wife and family. I love Twin Rivers BJJ because of the family vibes and great atmosphere. There are not many gyms that you can walk into and feel like you are just hanging out with your best buds. My BJJ mantra: It's okay to fail as long as you do it at 100%.

Hello, my name is Gabe Setters. I'm a kickboxing instructor and a blue belt! I started my martial arts journey with kids club wrestling, then moved on to high school wrestling. Then, after graduating, one of my best friends (Wes) introduced me to jiu-jitsu and kickboxing at Outcast Jiu-Jitsu in Paola. I fell in love with those immediately and have done both continually since 2019. I've competed in amateur fights and jiu-jitsu tournaments. I moved to Twin Rivers BJJ (my forever school) in 2021. Martial arts has been there for me when no one else was. The community and relationships I've made along the way are a main reason I always find my way back to the mats. I'm a construction worker and a people lover when I'm not on the mats. I think everyone should try a martial art at some point in their life. Come check us out!

Josh began training in jiu-jitsu in 2023. When he first started training, he just wanted to get in shape and make friends. And that is exactly what he's achieved. Outside of class, he likes to cook and all things "nerdy."

Hey, I'm Stormm Adamson, blue belt. I've worked in construction most of my life, and until I started jiu-jitsu, I wasn't my best self. I started my jiu-jitsu journey in 2021 and haven't looked back! I started at 304 lbs. and went from fat to fit very quickly, and now I'm down to 180 lbs.! I have had nothing but support along the way with Twin Rivers BJJ. Now, I'm going to school to be a personal trainer and am always willing to help anyone out, inside or outside the gym.

Hi all! I began my martial arts training in 2019 with taekwondo, in which I achieved a 1st degree black belt. In the process, I came to learn about Twin Rivers and have been here since the start of 2023. Shortly thereafter, I began kickboxing. I'm currently in college working towards my associate's degree, and later intend to get a bachelor's degree in psychology. I enjoy all sorts of energy and geeky subjects, from worldbuilding to science to video games.Β
