Q: Are there age restrictions at Twin Rivers BJJ?
A: Unfortunately, yes, at this time we do have age restrictions. We can teach students age 13 and older.
Q: I'm not sure BJJ is for me. Do you have any free classes?
A: Yes, we offer free classes to make sure Rivers BJJ and/or Twin Rivers BJJ is the right fit for you.
Q: Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
A: No, we don't believe in forcing our students to sign a contract. Sometimes life happens, and although this IS a business and we need to keep the lights on, we don't agree with locking students into something and forcing them to pay if they are no longer training. We only ask for a 30-day notice of putting your account on hold/cancellation.
Q: Do I have to compete?
A: Competition is absolutely NOT required. But, we do encourage you if you want to go that path. Competition is a great way to test your growing skills against unknown competitors in a safe environment, and this will help you find any holes in your game, which can help direct you on your BJJ journey. Every student is valued equally, no matter whether their goal is fitness, slef-defense, or becoming a world-class competitor.
Q: Can I train if I have a disability/injury?
A: Yes, but at your own risk. The wonderful thing about BJJ is that it can be tailored to physical and other limitations. Age, flexibility, previous injuries/surgeries, etc., are all aspects that can be factored in. We will work with you to design your game to maximize your ability no matter the starting point.
