暱稱為「鐵鎚」的 Mk84 低阻力通用炸彈內含 429 公斤的高爆炸藥，因為其高度摧毀性，現已不被美軍使用於非武裝地帶。「鐵鎚」落地爆炸時會形成一個直徑 15.2 公尺、深度 11 公尺的彈坑，能穿過 3 公尺厚的水泥，並同時產生高速、致命的破片往周圍高速飛去，最遠殺傷範圍達數百公尺。若一枚鐵鎚在西門六號出口爆炸，遠至峨嵋停車場的範圍皆會被夷為廢土。

去年底前，以色列已經針對加薩指定安全區的人口稠密地帶投放了至少兩百枚此種炸彈。

直至今年六月，美國已向以色列提供 14,000 枚「鐵鎚」通用炸彈、另還有 6,500 枚 500 磅炸彈、3,000 千枚地獄火空對地飛彈、1,000 枚反掩體炸彈、2,600 枚小直徑炸彈。從去年十月始至今年四月，以色列在加薩走廊投下了超過 70,000 噸的炸彈，已超過二次世界大戰時投在德勒斯登、漢堡、以及倫敦的武力總和，然而加薩走廊的面積僅有台北市的 1.33 倍。

以色列對加薩的進攻已經導致加薩至少 95,000 人受傷、41,467 人死亡，其中 16,500 人是兒童。以色列對加薩長期且全面的食物、飲水、能源、醫療資源封鎖，不僅使加薩面臨飢荒等全面性人道危機，更使加薩在本月初出現了 25 年來第一波小兒麻痺流行，疫情也造成至少一名嬰兒癱瘓。

以色列這一年來的無差別攻擊與狂妄躁進、針對援助人員的直接攻擊與恫嚇、關閉新聞媒體、針對政治犯的系統性性侵，可說已視國際人權法體系為無物。這也已經使國際法院（International Court of Justice, ICJ）將以色列對巴勒斯坦區域的佔領定義為非法，國際刑事法院（International Criminal Court）也考慮發出針對納坦雅胡等以色列官員的通緝令。在九月的聯合國大會中，也以 124 國贊成、12 國反對、43 國棄權的票數壓倒性通過決議文，要求以色列終止在巴勒斯坦的非法屯墾與佔領。

然而自今年一月起，以色列不只接續在貝魯特與德黑蘭暗殺真主黨和哈瑪斯領導，更在九月策劃橫跨黎巴嫩全境以及敘利亞部分地區的大規模爆炸案，以色列的行為在在顯示納坦雅胡政權對擴大戰線、引發區域衝突、乃至迎接全面戰爭的自信與意願。

在帝國夾縫中意圖走入國際社會的台灣，沒有否定「二戰後奠於規則的國際秩序」的空間。台灣人不能置身事外。台灣的政府也不應一昧漠視、旁觀。九月用於遙控爆炸的呼叫機上因印有臺灣供應商金阿波羅公司的商標，臺灣企業參與以色列武力部署的情況，以及臺灣政府與公民對以巴衝突的態度也再次受到國際社會的關注。民進黨籍立法委員鍾佳濱發起的「台灣與以色列國會議員聯誼會」、台灣與以色列——美國軍工複合體的協作，很可能就是將金阿波羅等台灣中小企業收編為屠殺機器的機制：落在加薩人民身上的兩千磅炸彈、使拉法難民帳篷燃燒的導引系統、以及狙擊援助組織車隊的無人機，都很可能含有台灣生產的零件。

The Mk84 Low Drag General Purpose bombs, nicknamed "Hammer", contain 429 kilograms of high explosives. Because of its high destructiveness, it is no longer used by the US military in demilitarized zones. When the Hammer hits the ground and explodes, it will form a crater with a diameter of 15.2 meters and a depth of 11 meters. It can penetrate 3 meters of cement and at the same time produce high-speed, deadly flying fragments with a maximum killing range of up to hundreds of meters. If a Hammer explodes at Exit 6 of Ximen MRT Station, areas as far away as the Emei Parking Lots will be reduced to rubble.

By the end of last year, Israel had dropped at least 200 such bombs on densely populated areas of Gaza's designated safe zone.

As of June this year, the United States had supplied Israel with 14,000 Hammer general-purpose bombs, 6,500 500-pound bombs, 3,000 Hellfire air-to-surface missiles, 1,000 anti-bunker bombs, and 2,600 small-diameter bombs. From last October to April this year, Israel dropped more than 70,000 tons of bombs on the Gaza Strip, which is more than the total bombs dropped on Dresden, Hamburg, and London during World War II. The Gaza Strip is only 1.33 times the size of Taipei City.

Israel's offensive on Gaza has left at least 95,000 injured and 41,467 dead, 16,500 of them children. Israel's long-term and comprehensive blockade of food, drinking water, power, and medical supplies has not only caused Gaza to face a comprehensive humanitarian crisis such as famine, but also caused the first wave of polio epidemic in Gaza in 25 years at the beginning of this month. At least one infant has been paralyzed.

Over the past year, Israel has arrogantly carried out indiscriminate attacks, directly harmed and intimidated aid workers, shut down the news media, and systematically sexually assaulted political prisoners. It can be said that Israel has zero regard for international human rights law. This has also led the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to define Israel's occupation of Palestinian areas as illegal, and the International Criminal Court (ICC) has also considered issuing arrest warrants against Netanyahu and other Israeli officials. At the United Nations General Assembly in September, 124 countries voted in favor, 12 countries opposed, and 43 countries abstained from voting, overwhelmingly passing a resolution calling on Israel to end its illegal settlement and occupation of Palestine.

However, since January this year, Israel has not only successively assassinated leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas in Beirut and Tehran, but also planned large-scale bombings across Lebanon and parts of Syria in September. Israel’s actions show that the Netanyahu regime is confident and willing to expand its front, trigger regional conflicts, and even embrace an all-out war.

Taiwan, caught between empires and longs to join the international community, has no room to deny the "international order based on rules after World War II." The people of Taiwan cannot remain ignorant to what is happening. The government of Taiwan must not act merely as a bystander and watch on the sidelines. In September, the pagers used for remote-controlled explosions in Lebanon were printed with the trademark of Taiwanese supplier Golden Apollo. The involvement of Taiwanese companies in Israel's deployment of force, as well as the attitudes of the Taiwanese government and citizens towards the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, have once again attracted the attention of the international community. The "Taiwan-Israel Congressional Association" initiated by Democratic Progressive Party legislator Chung Chia-pin and the collaboration between Taiwan and the Israeli-American military-industrial complex are likely to be the mechanisms for deforming Taiwan's small and medium-sized enterprises such as Golden Apollo into killing machines: the 2,000-pound bombs dropped on people in Gaza, the guidance system that burned refugee tents in Rafah, and the drones that sniped at aid group convoys all likely contained parts produced in Taiwan.
