1. INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy explains how MD Developer Studio ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Android TV Remote: Smart Cast mobile application (the "App"). By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
The App lets you control Android TV and Google TV devices over your Wi-Fi network and cast photos, videos, music and web links to your TV. The App does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
2. INFORMATION STORED ONLY ON YOUR DEVICE
The following information is stored locally on your phone and is never sent to us:
• App settings – theme, language, accent colour and remote preferences.
• Saved TVs – the names and local network addresses of TVs you pair with.
• Pairing certificate – a security certificate created on your phone so your TV can recognise it. It is exchanged only with your TV.
• Custom app shortcuts – app names and package names you add.
You can delete this information at any time by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App.
3. LOCAL NETWORK ACCESS
The App searches your local Wi-Fi network to find compatible TVs and sends remote-control commands (key presses, text you type, app launch requests) directly to your TV. This communication stays on your local network and does not pass through our servers. We do not operate any server that receives your remote-control activity.
4. MICROPHONE (VOICE SEARCH)
If you tap the voice search button, the App uses your phone's speech-recognition service (usually provided by Google) to convert your speech into text, which is then typed on your TV. The microphone is used only while voice search is active. We do not record, store or receive your audio. Speech processing by the speech-recognition provider is governed by that provider's privacy policy.
5. PHOTOS, VIDEOS AND MUSIC (SMART CAST)
When you choose files to cast, the App streams them directly from your phone to your TV over your local network using a temporary connection that only your TV can access. Your files are not uploaded to us or to any cloud service. Temporary copies created while casting are deleted when casting stops. When you cast a web link, your TV loads that link directly from the website you entered.
The App accesses only the files you select using the Android file picker. It does not scan your gallery or storage.
6. INFORMATION COLLECTED BY THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The App uses the following services provided by Google. They may collect information automatically as described below and in Google's own policies.
a) Google AdMob (advertising)
The App shows ads, for example on the language screen and the exit screen. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about ad interactions, in order to show, measure and improve ads. Ads may be personalised based on your consent and your device settings.
Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
How Google uses information from apps: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
b) Google Analytics for Firebase (usage analytics)
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used so we can improve it, for example which features are used, whether TV connection or casting succeeded, and which screens are visited. It collects an app-instance identifier, device model, operating system version, app version, language, approximate country and usage events. We do not send your name, email, TV names, network addresses or file names to Analytics.
c) Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports)
If the App crashes or an error occurs, Crashlytics collects a crash report including the error details, device model, operating system version, app version, a random installation identifier and technical log messages from the App. Network addresses are removed from these logs before they are sent. We use crash reports only to find and fix problems.
d) Google Play services
The App uses Google Play to check for and install App updates (In-App Updates). Google Play handles this according to its own terms and privacy policy.

7. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the information described above only to:
• provide the App's remote-control and casting features;
• show ads that keep the App free;
• understand usage and improve features;
• detect, diagnose and fix crashes and errors.
We do not sell your personal information.
8. CONSENT AND YOUR CHOICES
• Ads consent: If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the App asks for your consent before using your data for personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings > Ad privacy options.
• Advertising ID: You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your Android device settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on your device).
• Microphone: You can deny or revoke microphone permission in Android settings. All other features keep working.
• Uninstalling: Uninstalling the App removes all information stored on your device by the App.
9. DATA RETENTION
Information stored on your device remains until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App. Data collected by Google services is kept according to Google's retention settings: crash reports in Firebase Crashlytics are kept for up to 90 days, and Analytics event data for up to 14 months.
10. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These may include the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent and to object to processing. Because the App does not ask for your identity, we may need information from you (such as your app-instance identifier) to locate any data. To make a request, email ai.mdonda93@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by law.
11. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
12. SECURITY
Communication between the App and your TV is encrypted using TLS. We rely on Google's security practices for data handled by AdMob and Firebase. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect information.
13. THIRD-PARTY TRADEMARKS
The App is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC. Android TV, Google TV, Chromecast and related marks are trademarks of Google LLC. Other app and brand names shown in the App belong to their respective owners.
14. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
