The Problem
Abaqus Analysis
The Problem: Objective of project is to perform the crack analysis with given problem. The problem is analysed using Abaqus, stress field obtained is compared with analytic results for simple crack, and also compared with the stress intensity factor obtained using stress interpolation method, displacement interpolation method and Modified Virtual Crack Closure Integral method (MVCCM). The problem is also analysed with no elliptical hole so as to visualize the effect of hole in the the stress field

Mode I Crack Displacement Using Gradient Elasticity: Final project in series of 5 projects.
Details: To discuss crack displacement solution using Gradient Elasticity. Derive a general relation between modified and classical solutions. Solve the infinite body under stress using modified method and compare with classical solution. Visualise the effect of variation of parameter ’c’ on the solution. Verify that the modified solution indeed solves the issue of crack closure. Analyse the same problem with FEA using ABAQUS for comparison
