Design & Development of an Automatic Bike Stand
In modern developing world, automobile plays important role in our life especially two-wheelers which are most common among people. Though two wheelers are very helpful in day to day work but as every coin has two different faces, they are also responsible for most of the accidents happening in road, directly or indirectly. Some analyses have proved that most of the accidents occur due to forgetting of lifting side stand. It either affect vehicle thus resulting in bumps or turns thus resulting in misbalance of vehicle which usually become a reason of accident.
Many methods have been employed to rectify this problem, but all of them have some limitations, either they are too costly of they can be used in a specific model of bike. So, considering this fact, this system “AUTOMATIC BIKE STAND” is designed so that it can be implemented practically in all type of bikes which are chain driven. Since most of the bikes transmit power from engine to rear wheel by means of chain drive. This system is designed on the basis of working principle of bikes.
For demonstration a bicycle is being used for this project in place of bike. The assembly setup is made on bicycle to explain working of project.

The project team included 10 students and team was lead by me (selected on grade basis). The cad model was designed using CATIA V5. The prototype was developed in house by the project team using college facilities. A working prototype was installed in a bicycle and demostrated to the mentors.
