Hello, and welcome to the TUSD CSEA-19 site!
A labor union is an organization that acts as an intermediary between its members and the business that employs them. The main purpose of labor unions is to give workers the power to negotiate for more favorable working conditions and other benefits through collective bargaining. Labor unions were created in the industrial revolution when companies grew bigger and industry standards to protect worker's rights were poor. Modern labor unions exist as a collective group of workers in a specific trade or profession. These unions are designed to protect the rights and interests of their workers, but can be a good way for business leaders to get collective buy-in to the vision and growth of a company.
