We operate from 9:30am to 2:30pm on Monday and Tuesday. Toys in need of rescue should be in an easily accessible location within the London Borough of Bexley for example kerb side/on the pavement. We cannot collect toys that are within the boundaries of private property (unless prior permission is given) or left outside closed charity shops. We will not attend any rescues that we believe do not meet this criteria.

While we strive to never turn a good toy away, we only rescue toys that are in a safe and salvageable condition. We will consider toys that are in need of:

• minor repair work

• cleaning

• replacement parts

We avoid rescuing toys that:

• contain lead or lead-based paint

• are not BPA-free

• have small/loose parts

• could shatter or break easily

• toys that have sharp edges

Refurbished and/or second-hand toys are not going to have the same quality and safety assurances as new toys. The adopter accepts full responsibility for the safety of any child handling an adopted toy from Turn Around Toys.

While anyone living in the London Borough of Bexley can request to adopt a toy, we give priority to services and community groups that benefit children in the London Borough of Bexley including but not limited to:

• playgroups

• nurseries

• pre-schools

• reception classes

• libraries

• toy banks

• stay-and-play groups

• community centres

• children's hospital departments

Natalie uses her own car and petrol, and subsequently money, to rescue and collect toys. We currently lack the resources and funds to be able to deliver toys too, although this is something we hope to do in the future. Donating to Turn Around Toys Bexley is one way you can help support us.

Hand washing is one of the most important ways of controlling the spread of infections. It’s also equally important to clean surfaces that people touch a lot. We wash hands with liquid soap and warm water or hand sanitiser before and after handling rescued toys. Once lovingly restored, toys are fully sanitised before going to new homes.
