As an association, our social responsibility programme is premised on the understanding that ministry is not complete until the material needs of the people are met.
To this end, every project or outreach programme we embark on (or invest in) is evaluated and selected based on the following criteria:
1. Improving the quality of life of the less privileged and the welfare of the society we find ourselves in.
2. Projects that are environmentally sensitive and sustainable.
Turf Times Social Responsibility Programmes include, but are not limited to: Capacity Building, Leadership Development, Emergency Relief Projects.
During the recent Covid-19 lockdown in South Africa, funds were raised to distribute food parcels and vouchers to the needy in various communities. This is one of the many Emergency Relief Projects we seek to expand going forward. If you want to be involved please click here and contact us .

Turf Times (SCO Turfloop KC Reunion) was established in mid-2014 by Brother Emmanuel “Mponwa” “Empo” (nee Baloyi) as a WhatsApp chat Group called Turf Times KC. The group was established with the solemn purpose of re-uniting fellow student Christians who were members of the University of the North (now University of Limpopo) Student Christian Movement (SCM). The group was formed to discuss and debate on religious, welfare, social, political, economic, educational, environmental, health and patriarchal matters among other topics that affect us in our beloved country. The group is currently under the leadership of Pastor Godwill Baloyi, who is also an Alumni of the University of Limpopo.
This association focuses on reuniting SCM/SCO members who attended SCM services at Lecture Hall KC during the period Mid-1980's to Mid-1990's. Brother Emmanuel tirelessly embarked on a recruitment drive and he single-handedly managed to recruit brethren that mostly last communicated or saw each other some 25-30 years ago.
It was from this chat group that the idea of a reunion was conceptualised and it became a reality when brethren converged in Polokwane, hosted by brother Stanley Marara. Brothers Emmanuel and the group members continued to embark on the recruitment drive, and invited more members of the alumnus to the chat group, and the numbers increased exponentially. The group has grown in leaps and bounds and we are currently boasting a membership of over 120 alumnus. In 2020 we had our annual reunion and first annual Women's conference. You may click here to join the association.
