Venue
The TUI Blue Manar Hotel is located on the northern side of Hammamet. We strongly recommend participants to use Tunis–Carthage International Airport whenever possible.
To facilitate transportation, we plan to organize shared taxi transfers from the airport to the conference venue, and for the return trip as well. The cost of a one-way transfer is 45 Euros, which can be shared among travelers.
To help us coordinate this efficiently, please make sure to send us your exact arrival time as soon as it is confirmed, so that we can arrange shared transportation accordingly.
This option is also valid for people coming through Enfidha airport, with the same cost.
Registration Fees:
140 Euros or the equivalent in Tunisian Dinars
This includes Conference material, Coffee breaks, and the Social program.
Accommodation Fees:
360 Euros or the equivalent of Tunisian Dinars
These fees cover four nights with the option *Soft All Inclusive*
If you plan to stay extra days before or after the conference period, please inform the local organizers for booking as soon as you fix your air tickets
Accompanying persons:
360 Euros or the equivalent of Tunisian Dinars/person
These fees cover the whole period of the conference in the hotel with the option *Soft All Inclusive* plus the social program
For local students:
850 (or 1050) Tunisian Dinars
These fees cover registration + accommodation for three nights (or four nights)
Day Package:
400 Tunisian Dinars
It is without accommodation, that is, these fees cover the registration fees + the coffee breaks + the lunches + the social program
Funds:
We encourage the participants to ask for funds from their home institutions to attend. The conference budget is quite limited. A small number of funds will be especially devoted to young researchers
Lie group representation theory and harmonic analysis on Lie groups and their homogeneous spaces form a rich and rapidly evolving area of mathematical research. Since it emerged as a major field in the post-World War II era, it has gained increasing significance, establishing deep connections with number theory, algebraic geometry, differential geometry, operator algebras, partial differential equations, and mathematical physics.
To foster international collaboration and advance research in this domain, Ali Baklouti (University of Sfax) and Takaaki Nomura (Kyushu University) launched the Tunisian-Japanese Conference on Harmonic and Geometric Analysis, a long-standing series of scientific meetings bringing together experts from Tunisia, Japan, and beyond. The first conference was held in November 2009 on the Kerkennah Islands, followed by editions in Sousse (December 2011), Hammamet (December 2013), Monastir (December 2015), Mahdia (December 2017). The two last editions, held in Djerba Island (December 2019), and Monastir in November 2023, saw a transition in leadership on the Japanese side, with Hideyuki Ishi (Osaka Metropolitan University) taking over from Takaaki Nomura.
The Tunisian-Japanese Conference series is designed to promote research collaboration between mathematicians working in Lie groups, harmonic analysis, geometric analysis, and related fields. Each edition provides a platform for researchers to present their latest findings, exchange ideas, and develop new research directions. The topics covered in these conferences include:
Unitary representations of Lie groups and their applications.
Harmonic analysis on homogeneous spaces and symmetric structures.
Branching problems and symmetry breaking operators in representation theory.
Geometric structures on homogeneous spaces, including conformal and pseudo-Riemannian geometry.
Spectral analysis of differential operators on Lie groups and manifolds.
Applications of harmonic and geometric analysis in mathematical physics and number theory.
Each conference brings together leading experts, emerging researchers, and young mathematicians, fostering a dynamic research environment where fundamental problems are discussed, and innovative approaches are explored.
Over more than a decade, the Tunisian-Japanese Conferences have become a key event in the field of harmonic and geometric analysis, significantly enhancing scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange. The workshops have led to:
Numerous joint publications in high-impact mathematical journals.
The development of research networks involving universities from both Tunisia and Japan.
The training and mentoring of young researchers, particularly from Africa and the Global South, providing them with access to cutting-edge research.
The conference series is expected to continue growing, expanding its international reach and thematic scope while maintaining its commitment to excellence in mathematical research.
Beyond the institutional backing, the conference series has strengthened academic ties between Tunisia and Japan, creating opportunities for joint research projects, PhD supervision, and scientific exchange programs between mathematicians from both countries.
All the lectures and activities of the conference take place in TUI BLUE MANAR, Hammamet
