About the Author

Miss Susan Travis currently lives in Carlisle, PA. She has been the elementary band director in the Big Spring School District since April 2019. Miss Travis teaches 4th and 5th-grade band lessons at Mount Rock, Newville, and Oak Flat Elementary Schools. She also serves as the percussion co-caption head for New Oxford High School's marching band and indoor percussion. She has had the pleasure to serve as pit director for Big Spring High School's musical productions of Little Women, Wizard of Oz, and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Miss Travis is a graduate of Messiah University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. Miss Travis enjoys playing her flute and piccolo while performing with the Greater Harrisburg Concert Band and oboe with the Carlisle Town Band.

Susan recently completed a Master's Degree in Music Education from American Band College through Central Washington University.
