AMS/AWM Faculty Talks
AMS/AWM plan on holding virtual faculty talks during the spring 2021 semester. The purpose of the talks is to highlight the research, interests, and outreach across our department. We highly encourage first and second year PhD students to attend to become more acquainted with potential advisors and research opportunities. We also welcome undergraduate students to attend these talks. Upcoming talks can be found on the calendar.
AWM TEA/COFFEE DISCUSSION
AWM is honored to host discussions between our graduate body and invited speakers and/or other distinguished guests.
Here is what we have planned for the academic year 2020-21.
Coffee discussion with Dr. Kalina Mincheva (11/04/20 4:10pm)
Coffee and job application discussion with Dr. Robyn Brookes and Dr. Jonothan O'Rorke (11/11/20 5:30pm )
AMS Outreach
The AMS club works with GIST (Girls In Stem at Tulane ) and BATS (Boys At Tulane in Stem) in organizing fun and educational math activities for elementary and middle school students in New Orleans. In person versions of these events are currently on hold, but virtual versions are still expected to happen. Stay tuned.
