Kit is a senior at Boston University majoring in environmental analysis and policy. They advocate for sustainable and accessible public transportation as well as pedestrian and cyclist rights in urban areas. As a kid they were always very curious about science and nature, so they can't wait to bring that same passion to Boston's youth! They are so excited to lead TUGI this year to bring environmental education to kids of all ages.
Carolina is a sophomore at Boston University majoring in Education & Human Development with a minor in Math. She is passionate about teaching in an engaging and inclusive manner to empower the younger generations to make an impact in the world. She can’t wait to work with students to share her passion for teaching and learning while expanding kids’ knowledge and curiosity about the environment! She has already made many incredible connections throughout her time in TUGI and is excited to help broaden our community outreach within the Boston area.
Annika is a senior at Boston University majoring in Environmental Analysis and Policy. She is passionate about environmental justice and the intersection between humans and nature, which is why they believe youth environmental education is crucial for creating a sustainable future. Outside of TUGI, she is also the Green Office Intern for BU Sustainability, a member of the Admissions Student Diversity Board, and a member of Epsilon Eta. In their spare time, Annika loves to read, lovingly stare at her plants, and go to concerts with her friends.
Caroline is a sophomore at Boston University studying Human Physiology on the pre-med track. She is passionate about educating the future generation about climate change and how they can make an impact. She joined TUGI last semester, and has really enjoyed learning and collaborating with the other members. She is really excited to get more involved with TUGI, since she formed so many great relationships with other members and students at the schools she worked at.
Vance is a sophomore at Boston University majoring in computer engineering. Growing up in rural Ohio, he's always felt a connection to the outdoors. He has a strong interest in energy sustainability, working with both Citizen's Climate Lobby and the Sierra Club Ready for 100 campaign, and can't wait to share that same passion with the Boston Youth!
Veronica is a sophomore at Boston University studying Math and Math Education. She has always been passionate about youth education and activism, and loves nature and gardening! Because she is from California, Veronica wants to make a positive difference in her new home. She is especially excited to learn and grow with young students in the Boston Area as they learn more about environmental justice and sustainability.
Renata is a sophomore at Boston University’s Wheelock College majoring in Education and Human Development. She loves making difficult concepts interactive and engaging and helping children get excited about learning! Her favorite subject in school was never science, so she hopes to change that for the children participating in TUGI programs and show them just how cool and important environmental science can be. She will use her years of experience creating social justice programs for middle and high schoolers and the new knowledge she gains from her classes to design engaging curricula for these students. She is so excited to be a part of TUGI!
Maya is a freshman at Boston University majoring in environmental science. She is excited to work with schools to create lesson plans that will teach their students about different living organisms and Earth systems. She has a background in teaching after working in the education department at the Philadelphia Zoo for the past 5 years. Her main interests stem from topics of conservation and she can’t wait to pass her passion on to students in the local area.
Gracie is a senior at Boston University majoring in Environmental Analysis and Policy and minoring in Urban Studies. She is interested in urban planning and environmental justice. She also loves teaching kids about environmental issues and encouraging them to be excited about learning. The environment and nature has always been an important part of her life and she wants to learn as much as she can about how people are connected to their environment.
