I strongly feel that we need to combat the problematic epidemic that is killing so many citizens of this great state. I think that rehabilitation centers need to be constructed across the state, and we need to get these opioids off our streets. With some of our kids caught up in this epidemic, either by becoming addicted to opioids or losing a parent to them, I see it as the duty of our state's politicians to take action on this issue. The fix to this epidemic is not legalizing the drugs that kill so many, but getting those drugs off the streets of Lincoln. Our politicians ignore the issues, and instead, they promote ideals that have furthered the severity of this epidemic. As your Congressman, I will propose legislation to combat against this severe epidemic, and I will work hard to end it.
As a native of this state, too long have I witnessed jobs get shipped overseas due to lower wages, and terrible taxes. It has broken my heart to witness men and women lose their jobs due to these things, left struggling, without money, without a plan. I plan to propose lower taxes on corporations, and a comprehensive plan to bring jobs back. Our inactive, and overlooking Congress members do not see the troubles that too many citizens of this state suffer every day because of the shipping away of these jobs. The only way that Congress can regain the trust of the American people is by implementing plans to bring back jobs and combat against threats to American society.
The phrase "all gave some, some gave all" rings too true in the American society, but too often we watch as the heroes of this nation are undercut and undermined in this country. Congress does not take care of this nation's veterans, and we all know it. The current Democratic Administration takes very little action on supporting the people that are the reason they even had the chance to be elected. As I said last campaign, I want to see separate Secretaries for the Department of Defense and Department of Veteran's Affairs, because we need to pay more attention to the veterans of this nation. I also support increasing the pension for our veterans, and creating programs to offer job opportunities to those returning from active service. I stand strong in my belief that America is the land of the free because of the brave, and I will never forget the reason why I am even allowed to run.
Our farmers are the backbone of this state, and we need to recognize that. For far too long, no one has represented the views of this state's great farmers. Instead, they overlook them and focus on economic policies that will crush our state's farmers. As a Congressman for LN-1, I will work across all aisles and develop a bill that will heavily improve our farmers, because that is what we need to do if we want to see Lincoln thrive even more. We need to provide the support for our farmers that they need and deserve.
Our education system is in an utter state of decline and decay, in my opinion, and that is due to the terrible government overreach that we've seen. Our children are taught the terrible common core, which only distances the bonding relationship between parents and their child, not to mention the severe flaws and terrible set up of the curriculum. Standardized testing not even based on ability ruining the mindset and intelligence of this state's children, and it is sickening to see any politician support such a thing. I want to see the Department of Education abolished completely, and return the power to local districts to determine their curriculum. As a Congressman, I will push for a repeal of legislation that hurts our state's children, but it all starts with electing someone who will represent them.
Too often liberals, socialists, communists plague our country with attacks on the unborn. As citizens, as patriots, we cannot continue to tolerate this attack, this murder, on our state's children. Unborn or not, I will always fight for the right to life of everyone. America has always promoted the premise that we are a beacon of equality, yet we don't give equality to the unborn, instead, we sit around as people murder them. As a Congressman, I will collaborate with everyone to propose a pro-life bill to send to the desk of the President and take a stand on the blasphemy that these unborn babies are 'clumps of cells'.
