Prof. Bruce Macfarlane is the Chair, Professor, Faculty of Education and Human Development, The Education University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong SAR. The lecture topic covers issues in terms of networking, cronyism, and the journal special issues.
In the seminar, the keynote speaker introduced the overview of leading educational journals with high-impact factors with the topic in terms of publishing and avoiding the common mistakes made by international scholars and research in the educational field. In addition, he inspired the audience in terms of his pathway to becoming a teacher, a professor as well as an educational researcher at a university . The speaker is Prof. Gerardo R. López, Department of Educational Administration at Michigan State University, Editor of Educational Administration Quarterly.
The research which was presented at International conference on English Medium Instruction in Higher Education held by National Taiwan Normal University has the title namely "The obstacles, motivation of EMI implementation and faculty members' aspirations in terms of the capacity building programs. An empirical study at Hue University of Education in Vietnam". The research concluded that:
The quantitative approach conducted in the context of a Vietnamese university of education with the 146 faculty members as the research participants
Obstacle factor on the faculty members in EMI implementation was the students’ poor and mixed English proficiency levels considered as the most challenging factor of the obstacles
The faculty member desired to the maintenance of faculty members’ own English proficiency as their highest motivative factor
The faculty members desired to have EMI field trips as the most impact factors of their aspiration for developing the EMI capacity building programs
