about Tennessee TEch SFA - AFS Subunit

The Tennessee Technological University Student Fisheries Association was established as a subunit of the Tennessee Chapter of the American Fisheries Society in 1988 to unite students interested in the fisheries profession, to provide a platform for the academic and professional development of students interested in fisheries at TTU, and to encourage the exchange of technical and regional fisheries information among its members.

"The American Fisheries Society is an international group made up of fisheries managers, biologists, professors, ecologists, aquaculturists, economists, engineers, geneticists, and social scientists that promote scientific research and sustainable management of fisheries resources. Established in 1870, it is the world's oldest and largest organization dedicated to strengthening the fisheries profession, advancing fisheries science, and conserving fisheries resources. "
