We frequently get questions about where to find Comfey, Pa'u Oricorio, and Corsola and where to play, so this page addresses those questions for tourists and other visitors.
If you're staying for an extended time and want to find out how to meet or raid with local players, check out the page for kama'aina (locals).
Comfey and Pa'u Oricorio:
No observed distribution limit.
A random, uncommon spawn (players who plus report getting 2-4 a week during non-event weeks)
Corsola:
Corsola can pop up almost anywhere on the island as a random spawn, but your best chances are by the water, so (when special events aren't disrupting spawns) you might head to one of the following places:
along the beach in Waikiki
the special-event note bears repeating: special-spawn events from Niantic can severely decrease (or increase) Corsola spawns.
Low-hassle Raiding:
If you don't want to join a raid chat/discord, you can often just walk up to a T5 raid in one of these places at these times:
eastern and central Waikiki
When: during the day (~9-10am through 5-6pm)
Why: Local workers, residents, and tourists on the street or in the hotels/condos make raiding pretty easy.
Ala Moana mall: (Directions here)
When: most days; most of the shops don't open until 9:30/10am, though, so it might be tougher to reliably find a lot of raiders on weekdays earlier than that
Why: The mall has 5 gyms on site, 2 immediately adjacent (including an EX-eligible gym at the Ala Moana Hotel), and another few in Magic Island Park (which are EX eligible, but may not always get people from Ala Moana). It also has two 4-PokeStop grinding sites by Macy's and the now-defunct Shirokiya. A number of other gyms are remote-raid accessible in the area.
Downtown (i.e., around Iolani Palace and the state capitol)
When: on a weekday during working hours (esp. around lunch and just after work)
Why: office workers + roughly 8 EX eligible gyms within waking distance (plus up to ~15 remote raid possible) = E-Z raiding
Corsola: Ali'i Drive in Kona
Corsola: The bike path in Kapaa
Corsola: Front Street in Lahaina; Kalama Park in Kihei

Which Pokemon are in high trading demand for people in Hawaii that I could bring? (last updated September 2023)
Regionals not found in Hawaii include the following:
Most desired (due to small/remote/distant homes/newness):
Klefki
Bouffalant
Oricorio Pom-Pom (yellow)
Oricorio Sensu (purple)
Oricorio (red, Flamenco)
Furfrou (Pharaoh, Kabuki, La Reine, Diamond, Star)
Flabebe (Blue--Asia-Pacific--- and Red--Europe/Middle East/Africa)
Maractus
Somewhat desired (have been out for longer, so a few possibly have some already, and/or have large availability regions):
Sigilyph (Some trainers went to GO Fest 2023 and brought back a bunch, but more needed)
Uxie (came out for 3 weeks in 2021, so mainly people who donʻt discord/know people abroad)
Mesprit (came out for 3 weeks in 2021, so mainly people who donʻt discord/know people abroad)
Pansage
Relicanth
Torkoal
Carnivine
A few may still want the following regionals that are not native to Hawai'i (i.e., the following were available in Hawai'i for at least a short time for an event/cycle even if they are no longer here/not in the wild) for lucky chances, etc.:
Snowy castform (as you might imagine, not a lot of fog/snow in Hawaii)
Pachirisu
Tropius
Pansear
Galarian Mr. Mime (if they did not buy the event ticket)
Chatot (available during GO Fest 2021 play anywhere)
Heracross
Volbeat
Farfetch'd,
Mr. Mime
Tauros
possibly Durant, Lunatone, Shellos, or Zangoose, Basculin (red stripe), Sawk if a person missed an event/rotation
High stardust-cost items: As with anywhere else, some people will also want legendaries, unown, shinies, etc. but you'd probably need to set up Friendship months in advance to be able to trade with someone with a decent chance at the Pokemon maintaining its IVs and/or having a reasonable stardust cost. Consider joining the Hawaii PoGo! discord (or a discord local to the island you're visiting)
Less-common (but non-legendary/shiny) Pokemon with high CP (but low IV) might also be attractive to people looking for luckies. And, if you do Silph Arena, Pokemon useful for that month's Cup that are low CP enough to be in Great League might also get you some takers.
Finally, people trying to complete their badges are happy just to do trades of common Pokemon with someone from far away to get their Pilot (trade distance) badge platinum, so feel free to bring a bunch of commons from your region, too!
Which gyms in tourist-destination-type areas are EX eligible? I'd rather AVOID a raid at those gyms because I couldn't return to do an EX (should I get a pass)?
This is a legacy question. Now that EX gyms are marked, you should be able to avoid them easily, even not knowing them.
One caveat: raid boss egg screens have NOT been showing the EX tag reliably. You may have to swipe/tap up to see the spinner on top of the gym to see/confirm an EX tag.
Where can I find free parking in/around downtown Honolulu?
Downtown parking meters are enforced M-Sat 7am-6pm. Your best bets for free parking at meters are Sundays and holidays. (in Feb 2019, the rates increased, but it will take alittle while for all the meters to be adjusted)
Waikiki: There is free daytime parking at the Waikiki Shell. (In February 2019, rates increased for meter parking in Waikiki as did hours of enforcement).
UH Manoa has free parking on Sundays (be sure to park in correct stalls, though).
Kapiolani Community College has free parking.
