The Silph Road Travelers Card
What it is
How to get one
How to use it for handshakes and event check ins
Troubleshooting
Your Travelers Card is a free public player profile in the global Pokemon GO player network: the Silph Road. Look up trainers you spot in gyms around the world, show off your progress, and earn achievement badges on the Road network for doing things like attending your local discord's Community Day events!
Since 2019, the Card is also used to track your points/progress in Silph Arena tournaments! Performance in Silph Arena Cups can help you to qualify for Regional tournaments.

Sign up with a reddit account or a Google account.
If you don't have the beta app:
Go to thesilphroad.com/card and log in
Click on "Handshake"
Click on the button in "Generate a code"
If you have the app (or want the app: https://silph.app/):
Click on the networking/Handshakeicon (second from left on the bottom)
Click on Handshake (at the top)
Click on the button to "Generate a code"
For event check ins: Read off the 4-digit code to a staff/leadership team member who will enter it into a special app
For each event meetup that you attend, you'll get a special digital event badge for your Travelers Card! (The badge is a memento of attending an official meetup, so it's not just for catching solo during a Community Day.)
For handshakes with other travelers to build up your connection network: only one of you needs to generate and read off your 4-digit code to the other. The other person just types the code into "Enter a Code." There should be a confirmation.
You only need to handshake once with another trainer; they'll show up in your network web on your card (as long as they haven't made their card private).
Popular Pokemon GO Youtubers also may have chosen to be able to give out a special TSR badge, so if you run into a favorite Youtuber, ask to Handshake and get their badge!
My trainer level on the Card is much lower than my actual level.
Make sure you entered the TOTAL XP at the bottom of your trainer info screen and not the XP amount just under the avatar (that's just the XP needed for the next level)
I get stuck in a verification/sign-in loop when trying to create a card for the first time using Google.
If you're on a mobile device, be sure you're using a "full" browser like Chrome or Firefox (not a built-in/proprietary browser).
Chrome users can then try using Incognito mode: https://www.greenbot.com/article/3027914/android/how-to-browse-with-incognito-mode-in-chrome-for-android.html
Firefox users should try opening a Private Window: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-use-firefox-without-history
Safari users should try Private mode: https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht203036
If you're on a laptop/desktop, clear your cookies and try again.
I only created a Travelers Card today, but I attended a previous Kapolei/Mililani/UHM/Ala Moana meetup on a Community Day. Can I still get a badge for that event?
Contact us at thesilphroadhawaii@googlegroups.com If you attended one of the meetups; it is possible!
The following problems may need to be dealt with centrally, so e-mail the Hawai'i team at thesilphroadhawaii@googlegroups.com for next steps.
I typed in the wrong trainer name when I created my card.
