HYDERABAD: Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) on Wednesday clarified that one of the two hall tickets for the Group IV examination reportedly issued in the name of same candidate with different examination centres was a fabricated one.

The hall ticket (2193432645) issued in the name of Dharavath Navya Sree, resident of Tekulapally of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, showed the examination centre as Sri Nalanda Junior College at Kothagudem, while the other with the same hall ticket number showed Deccan College of Engineering and Technology, Aghapura of Hyderabad as the centre leading to confusion and public outcry.

As the two-hall ticket episode became viral giving a headache to the beleaguered TSPSC, which was facing the heat with allegations of paper leaks, began looking for the reasons for such a blunder with the examination fast approaching on July 1, 2023. The particular candidate was supposed to attend the general studies exam in the morning and the secretarial abilities exam in the afternoon.

The writ petition was filed by three candidates who had appeared for the Group-I preliminary test, contending that there were many lacunae on the part of the TSPSC in conducting the re-exam on June 11. Their counsel A. Giridhar Rao told the bench that the TSPSC had failed to get the hall ticket numbers and photographs of the candidates on the hall tickets of candidates appearing for the test.

The judge also sought to know why the hall tickets issued to the candidates had no specific numbers and the reasons for not displaying photographs of the candidates on the hall tickets. These aspects were basic ingredients of conducting the exam without giving any scope for any mistakes, the judge said.
