No one walks onto a college campus for the first time completely prepared for what comes next. That doesn’t mean you don’t belong. It just means that you need an opportunity learn about the culture of your new community so you can develop the skills you need to succeed, and find the resources to help you when you struggle. That’s what this class is all about.
You’re sitting in this class because you want to get a college degree. Good choice. However, to reach that goal, you need to consciously work on acquiring some specific skills that will you overcome obstacles and make good choices. To do this, we will

Apply what you learn to your 1310 major assignments
Develop material for your 1310 essays

I expect you to do your best to complete all of your assignments on time.
