Research in the Trzaskoma lab focuses on how three-dimensional chromatin organization and the transcriptional machinery shape gene expression in health and disease. We use single-cell RNA sequencing, mathematical modeling, and advanced imaging approaches, including light super-resolution microscopy, high-throughput microscopy, and 3D electron microscopy, to study transcriptional variability and dynamics at the single-cell level. Our goal is to understand how cytokine signaling shapes spatial genome organization and gene transcription, and how transcriptional alterations contribute to monogenic immune disorders (inborn errors of immunity), cancer, and other genetic diseases.
