In data from surveys, focus groups and town halls, Jefferson County youth have told us that they don't have adults to turn to when they need encouragement and support. The Trustable Adults initiative of Jefferson County Communities That Care is focused on training and recruiting more adults to invest in Jefferson County youth. Numerous studies-- and Jefferson County data-- show that youth who report having an adult they trust are less likely to be involved in risky behaviors.
