Welcome to the Eagle's Nest!
Over the past 40 years, Scouting America Troop 982 has seen over 150 young men attain the rank of Eagle Scout, the organization's highest honor. Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout requires hard work and long-term dedication. Of the 21 overall merit badges needed to earn this rank 14 are mandatory and provide a solid foundation covering all aspects of scouting.
In addition to merit badges, each Eagle Scout candidate completes a capstone service project, an Eagle Project, that is planned, designed, fundraised, and orchestrated, all by the prospective Eagle Scout. This marks a transition in the young man's life when he can go from learning many skills (Communication, Citizenship in the Community, Engineering, etc.) to leveraging those skills and leading his fellow scouts in accomplishing a substantial task - starting from nothing. Troop 982 enjoys having a very experienced 'Life to Eagle' coordinator serving on its committee as well as fantastic committee members and ASMs, and looks forward to seeing which young man will be next to soar.
