Did you know Troop 76 is celebrating 104 years since our formation? Hundreds of Simsbury residents—both as scouts and adult leaders—are alumni! The funds raised help our scouts contribute to Simsbury all year long through service projects, working with the VFW, and volunteering at various church and civic events. Our goal this year is to make $50,000 in sales!

Leadership That Lasts: At Troop 76, leadership is not just a position—it’s a journey. Scouts take ownership of planning and running meetings, outings, and service projects, while adults provide coaching and support. Many of our youth have gone on to staff or participate in the prestigious National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) program, bringing back valuable skills to strengthen our troop.

Linked Troops, Shared Spirit: Troop 76 B (Boys) and Troop 76 G (Girls) are linked troops. While we share a strong community and many joint activities, each troop has separate leadership structures and youth-led programs, ensuring all Scouts have the chance to step up and guide their peers.

Active in Advancement: Our Scouts are very active in advancement, with plenty of opportunities to earn ranks and merit badges throughout the year. We often run dedicated merit badge programs—including Cooking, Hiking, First Aid, Horsemanship, and more—ensuring Scouts can explore interests and gain skills at their own pace. Along the way, they develop teamwork, self-reliance, and the confidence to reach for Eagle.

September Canoe Campout in Simsbury – open to prospective Scouts and families, free of charge (Completed)
October Island Camping Trip – remote and rustic adventure for the boys troop
November Backpacking Trek on the Appalachian Trail
Winter Ski Campout
February Mount Washington Winter Climb – for experienced Scouts
Spring Break 2026: Sea Base in the Florida Keys – sailing, snorkeling, and tropical adventure

Past High Adventures: Sea Base, the Delaware Water Gap, and winter climbs of Mount Waumbek and Mount Washington
These trips push Scouts outside their comfort zones, teach resilience, and create friendships that last a lifetime.
