Veterans Day Ceremony
Troop 76 B&G have once again been invited to post a color guard and help pass out programs at the Simsbury Veterans Day service held at the Veterans Memorial next to the library. The muster is at 10:30 AM. The service starts with posting colors at 10:45 AM and lasts approximately 45 minutes. Dress for this event is your full Class A uniform. Participation in this event will count toward service hour rank requirements.

The Klondike Derby is an annual event held during the winter and based on the heritage of the Klondike Gold Rush. The Derby tests Scout skills, leadership abilities, and Scout spirit.

A Troop 76 Tradition!
This challenging and rewarding winter high adventure is open to scouts 13 and in 8th grade and older. Training, including shakedown hikes and gear checks will be included/required.

Scouts from 76 G completed a high adventure trip to Ontario Canada where we enjoyed canoeing and camping in Algonquin Provincial Park, portaging like a boss, wrangling livestock sized mosquitos, and swimming in and drinking from beautiful Lake Opeongo. We also enjoyed a day in the capital city of Ottawa, touring government sites and eating some delicious treats in Byward Market.

Backpacking in Natchaug State Forest to the Knowlton Brook campsite via the Nipmunk trail.

Scouts of Troop 76G and 76B enjoyed perfect weather for our campout this weekend. The girls had a great time getting in some conservation service hours doing beach cleanup followed by beach games and picnic, a visit The Sailing Museum in Newport, not to mention developing outdoor skills and passing off rank requirements, and finally going for a little troll stroll with 76B on our way home. The boys enjoyed a tour of Fort Adams and fun at the beach. This one ticked all the boxes!

Two crews from 76 G and 76 B participated in a 12-day trek
Our yearly paddle and campout with Cub scouts and friends on the Farmington River.
Scouts attempted to summit Mt. Washington this past weekend. They spent Saturday practicing mountaineering in Tuckerman's Ravine.
Another great week at Camp Mattatuck, this year we had over 20 scouts attend.
