Scouting America Troop 220 is sponsored by the Bountiful Community Church in Bountiful, Utah. Troop 220 was founded by Bountiful Community Church in 1954 and is the 3rd oldest continuously operating Boy Scout Troop in Utah. The Bountiful Elks Lodge became Troop 220's chartering organization in 1973 but as of 2024 the troop is again chartered by the Bountiful Community Church.
We invite you to join us for a Troop meeting and see if our Troop is for you. We meet on Monday evenings at 6:45 at the Bountiful Elks Lodge on the north-west corner of 400 North and 500 West, behind the Food Mart at the Shell gas station. Enter through the left door of the building and go up the stairs to find us. Here is a map.
We are a youth-led Troop and average around 40 Scouts ages 11-18. Being a Scout-led Troop provides the boys many leadership opportunities as well as a number of Patrols within the Troop to foster some healthy competition. We pride ourselves on traditional Scouting methods. At the opening of every Troop meeting we recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America as well as the Scout Oath and the Scout Law.
Our program follows the Scouting America program themes. Each month we have a different topic on which to focus. The themes rotate on a 3-year schedule. Additionally, we camp year-round and also attend a week-long summer camp each year. Parental involvement is welcome and highly encouraged.
The Troop subsidizes the costs of the program to minimize the out-of-pocket expenses for each Scout. We do so by raising funds at our annual Spaghetti Dinner held each March in the McNamara Center at Saint Olaf Catholic Church. Participation at Spaghetti Dinner is a requirement for each Scout as we serve over 1,500 meals! We get substantial support for our Spaghetti Dinner from Scouting America Cub Scout Pack 220 (sponsored by Bountiful Community Church). Our 48th annual Spaghetti Dinner was held in 2025. Please join us each year for a great Spaghetti Dinner!
