Troop 168 braved the winter chill at Resica Falls Scout Reservation and raced down the slopes at Shawnee Mountain for our second annual snow tubing adventure. Laughing, cheering, and sliding through the snow, they made memories only a weekend like this can bring.
Our Scouts went tent camping at Cita Scout Reservation, enjoying a weekend packed with 3D archery, games, and campfire laughs. They capped it all off with some well earned pizza, a perfect mix of adventure and fun.
We camped at Voorhees State Park and tackled a 5.3-mile hike while putting their map and compass skills to the test. They also explored the Observatory and kicked off their Astronomy Merit Badge, making it a weekend full of learning and adventure.
Our Scouts spent an exciting weekend at Whitewater Challengers in Weatherly, PA, with Saturday devoted to paddling the rapids of the Lehigh River. Adventure, teamwork, and plenty of laughs made for an unforgettable trip!
Troop 168 had an incredible week at Ockanickon Scout Reservation! Fourteen Scouts attended and made the most of every opportunity camp had to offer. Together, they earned an impressive 79 merit badges and achieved 6 special awards, including Totin’ Chip, Firem’n Chit, and the Mile Swim Award. It was a week filled with learning, adventure, and Scout spirit, and a summer camp experience to remember!
Our Scouts recently hiked the historic Philadelphia Freedom Trail, exploring the places where our nation began. Along the way, we learned how George Washington was nominated to command the Continental Troops and how the First Continental Congress was formed. We visited the iconic Liberty Bell and toured Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was debated and adopted. The Scouts proudly earned a commemorative medal for completing this meaningful and historic hike.
We were proud to march in the annual Union County St. Patrick's Day Parade, representing our troop and the Scouting spirit in our community. Lined with cheering families and friends dressed in green, the parade was a great opportunity to show our pride, teamwork, and commitment to service. It was a fun and memorable day celebrating tradition, community, and Irish heritage together.
For our first Snow Tubing Trip, we enjoyed an exciting winter weekend full of adventure and fellowship. We camped at Winnebago Scout Reservation and spent the day snow tubing alongside Troop 68, our boys troop chartered through Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church. It was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen friendships, embrace the outdoors, and celebrate the fun of winter together.
We took on our very first Backpacking Trip at Harriman State Park during an unusually cold November weekend. Scouts learned the basics of backpacking, including packing and carrying their gear and cooking their own trail meals. Starting at Silvermine, we hiked to the William Brien Memorial Shelter to set up camp, then on Saturday completed a challenging 5+ mile trek with nearly 1,000 feet of elevation gain to Lake Tiorati and back. We finished Sunday by hiking out to the Lewis Mine.
