2022
So far in 2022, the troop introduced some new scouts and enjoyed a weekend back at Camp Brown where scouts practiced canoeing skills along the Potomac River, like learning paddle techniques, connecting, and flipping canoes. The troop also spent another great summer week at Goshen Scout Reservation Camp Olmsted “PRIDE”, completing activities such as the mile swim, 50 total merit badges, and placing a close third place for the troop of the week at the camp.
2023
-During February, scouts enjoyed a trip to Liberty Mountain Ski Resort for a day that involved free snowsport activities, as well as being offered to complete the snow sports merit badge.
-During Spring, the troop organized the yearly mulch sale to bring in revenue for troop activities
-New Scout Campout- The troop welcomed many new scouts with their first campout. At this campout, the older scouts worked heavily on beginning rank advancement with the younger scouts, while teaching them about scouting experiences, such as camping.
-Goshen- The scouts spent July 4th week at Camp Olmsted, a camp within the Goshen Reservation. There, they completed many merit badges and participated in many canoeing, swimming, and hiking activities. They won Troop of the Week and completed many service projects.
-50 miler. During the summer of 2023, in July, the troop went on their annual 50-miler canoe trip. It began on July 16 and promptly and successfully ended on July 21. The troop spent 3 days on the Potomac River and completed the journey with a trip to a local farm and the National Jamboree.
-Two Eagle Scout Court of Honors held for Sean Conley and Eli Fugate, who both completed the rank of Eagle this summer.
-Turkey Campout! On the weekend before Thanksgiving, the troop went out to participate in the famous TURKEY CAMPOUT. While they were there, they completed rank advancements, enjoyed spending time with fellow scouts, and ate a massive and delicious Pre-Thanksgiving feast.
