Troop 706 is a Boy Scout troop that offers a camping based experience that helps boys develop character, fitness, and citizenship. Scouting helps boys become their best selves, and teaches important skills for a young man. We meet weekly on Monday nights at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, and we have monthly Campouts, ranging from one to two nights. Our schedule also includes battleship overnight Encampments, backpacking, Shotgun Shoots, and more.
Scouting is an activity that is participated in by youth all over the world. In the United States, scouting is a vastly available program that has over 2 million youth involved. Scouts advance through a series of ranks, getting requirements signed off as they do them. Older scouts can get the opportunity to go to high adventure camps, like Philmont Scout Ranch, Northern Tier, and Florida Sea Base.
