Training is the cornerstone for all things scouting! The better trained all leaders are, the better the scouting experience is for all, especially the scouts! The better trained all parents are, the safer our scouts will be. The better trained all scouts are, the closer they are to achieving the aims of scouting and the beetter leaders they will be.
Most training is obtained through your My.scouting.org account, others are obtained during summer camp, day camps, council-led activities, and attending other unit activities.
However, some of the most meaningful and impactful training are the ones delivered by the scout's unit. The ones delivered by their leaders, peers, and family. It may be enhanced or delivered with the assistance of subject matter experts, but having our leaders, peers and/or parents as the lead evokes a huge sense of pride and ownership.
We must always remember that scouting is "FUN with a purpose" so let's keep it that way! Keep classroom stuff to a minimum and get hands-on, get outdoors!!!
The objective here is to give you a centralized place for the resources to provide training. For Council provided training, we provide context and links to resources.
Here is also provided context and links for training that is designed by the unit for unit delivery. The materials presented are as updated as the last update! It is up to you to review the materials for accuracy, make any required updates or tweaks and oesent the updated materials to the training chair so it can be updated here.
