The Scouts BSA advancement program is divided into 7 ranks: Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle. The first four of these - often referred to as the Trail to First Class - focus more on basic knowledge and skills. The Star, Life, and Eagle ranks focus on leadership and learning skills in more depth via merit badges.
Troop 373 is committed to supporting Scouts in developing the knowledge, skills, experiences, and commitments necessary to progress through the Scouting ranks. The Troop is a boy-run troop in the truest sense. Older Scouts take on leadership roles in teaching and mentoring younger Scouts as they navigate the full range of rank requirements. Dedicated adult volunteers serve as merit badge counselors to promote the goals of scouting as Scouts explore areas of interest and meet the expectations of higher ranks. The troop uses Scoutbook.com to track progress and keep records of achievements. Most importantly, all activity in pursuit of rank advancement takes place in environment focused on having fun while growing as individuals and as a group.
Scouts who persist to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout join a long and proud history of Troop 373 members who have achieved Scouting's highest honor - so far, 100 Scouts and counting!
