Troop News and Events

Each year, on the Sunday before Veterans Day, the Scouts of Troop 327 host their annual Pancake Breakfast at the Islip Terrace Firehouse. This highly successful fundraiser is the result of many months of planning and preparation and has become a much-anticipated event for the community.

In the weeks leading up to the breakfast, Scouts work hard to sell tickets and promote the event through advertising. These efforts provide them with valuable opportunities to develop their salesmanship and customer service skills while putting the principles of Scouting into practice.

On the day of the event, Scouts take an active role in welcoming guests, serving pancakes, assisting with the meal, and helping throughout the event. Beyond raising funds for the troop, the Pancake Breakfast gives Scouts a meaningful opportunity to build confidence, leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while giving back to the community that supports them.
