Leadership - Citizenship - Character - Fitness

For over half-a-century, Scouts BSA Troop 327 has served the youth of Islip Terrace and surrounding communities.  Working with the mission to instill a desire for service along with the tools needed for leadership and the pillars of responsibility to help guide boys along their path to becoming productive members of the community with a willingness and ability to give back to others.  Our scout led Troop is active with weekly meetings, monthly camping trips, frequent community service projects, and a program that incorporates youth leadership, under the guidance of adults.

The Foundation of the Scouting program is the Scout Oath, Scout Law, Scout Slogan, and Scout Motto.  These Scouting ideals guide our program and instills everyday values.  Scout skills and activities are practiced at our weekly Troop meetings and put to use at our monthly outdoor activities.  Being in nature, with its ever-changing surroundings, and learning to live and work together, our boys to learn teamwork, perseverance, self-reliance, and a duty to care for our environment.

Our outdoor adventures take us to our local Suffolk County parks, Scouting camps, historic cities in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Washington D.C, as well as many popular sites in and outside our Island.  Additionally, Scouts have the opportunity to take local and nationally developed training, take part in National or International Jamborees, or visit one of four Scouting high adventure bases, to backpack, canoe, horseback, hike, and camp!  With Scouting, the options and opportunities are vast, and the growth a Scout makes over their career strengthens the building blocks needed for future success as a more confident and productive adult.

We invite you to come down to Christ Lutheran Church, Islip Terrace on any Friday night to learn more and see if your son can benefit from Scouting.  Meetings begin at 7:00pm and guests are always welcome to check us out and see us in action.
