Philmont 2022

In June of 2022, the Troop organized Crew 630-G heading from Toledo, OH to Philmont, NM. While at Philmont the group of High Adventuring youth and adults backpacked more than 130 miles and ascended the 12,441ft. elevation of Mt. Phillips.

Below is the group training event schedule that was designed to promote team building, skills growth, and allow crew members to demonstrate their progress made physical conditioning and gear training.

Feb. 15 Final Payment for Trek Fees: $572.50


Apr. 30 - May 1 Shakedown #1 Road Trip to Hocking Hills, OH: Target 50lb


May 14 Planned First Aid Scenario Training @ Miakonda


May 20 - 22 Shakedown #2 Hike on! Trip from PSR: Target 60lb


Jun. 12 Day Hike #3: 50lb Target Pack

If we end up not using something, that will be better than needing it and not having it. Crews that were on the trail in 2021 for the same time that we are going next year enjoyed temperatures ranging from 50 to 80, torrential rain, and lots of mud. The temperature forecast ranges for July 2022 range from 47F- 88F.
