Alexandria Senior High senior running back Jarvis Newton always has a chance to make a big play whenever he has the football.
“I just like scoring,” said Newton when asked about his favorite thing about playing.
After two seasons of sharing carries in the Trojans' backfield, Newton is the lead running back this year and is coming off a performance of 134 yards and three touchdowns against Ferriday.

Judd Barton, ASH, Sr., 6-2, 185 – Barton stepped up in a huge way this season to help ASH reach the Class 5A championship game for the first time after passing for 1,543 yards and 21 touchdowns, while rushing for 268 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Judd Barton had a stellar career in three seasons as Alexandria Senior High quarterback, but lacking on his resume was an extended state title run.
It all changed during his senior season.
Barton passed for 1,543 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2020, taking ASH to the Class 5A championship game. He saved his best against perennial Class 5A contenders Zachary, West Monroe and Acadiana for a combined 479 yards, seven touchdowns and an interception.

Alexandria Senior High coach Thomas Bachman just wants it to be known that the Trojans are just "scratching the surface" of what they can do.
After back-to-back seasons of seeing their seasons end in the Class 5A regionals on the final play, the Trojans became the first Rapides Parish team in a state championship game since Bolton in 1974.

Whenever the Alexandria Senior High defense made a stop, senior Jermaine McNeal was always there.
After breaking onto the scene as a junior with 134 tackles in 2019, it took three fewer games for McNeal to nearly set that mark with 122 stops and six sacks in just nine games.
McNeal, the anchor for the Trojans, is the 2020 All-Cenla Defensive Player of the Year in football.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Alexandria Senior High Trojans take on St. Thomas More Friday evening.
St. Thomas More has Howard Walker, the number quarterback in the nation according to 247sports.com.
Walker is a five-star athlete and Thomas Bachman, ASH’s head coach, spoke about Walker during a press conference.
“He’s fun to watch on film until you realize you’re preparing to play him,” Bachman said. “The quarterback is phenomenal... every bit of hype he gets, he’s deserving of.”

The ASH Trojans are looking to build off a historic 2020 season that saw them go all the way to the Class 5A State Championship before falling to Acadiana 35-34. Despite losing talent from last year’s team, the Trojans reloaded their roster and are looking for another run at the championship game.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The smell of fresh-cut grass and the sound of whistles blowing underneath the blistering sun are all signs that football is almost back.
“It’s on to a new year,” Thomas Bachman, the head football coach at Alexandria Senior High (ASH) School, said. “These kids obviously have high expectations for themselves.”
The high expectations were well-earned after the ASH Trojans lost in the state championship last year by one point.
“We got some hard workers,” J’mari Monette, defensive linemen for ASH, said. “We are going be straight this year.”
