Introduction
I chose this little section of the lower Logan River because this is where I caught my first fish in Logan. It is a great area because you have a lot of casting space and the parking lot is 10 steps away. The Blacksmith Fork river runs into the Logan River in this area. From here it goes into Cutler Reservior.

There is a large sediment deposits where the riffles were on the watershed. The river bottom is a lot of small gravel and large to medium rocks. Were the debris was a large rock was holding up a small timber pile. This created a pool right behind the debris. It was hard to say what could have been the flood plain because the bank was sitting about 4 feet higher than the water's surface. This channel was large and was moving swiftly. This section of the watershed carried more suspended sediment than bedload sediment. The vegetation was scarce near the river, but there were a few bushes and trees near the park. There didnt seem to be much erosion along the banks because of the larger rocks lining the watershed. A few human disturbances along the river such as a bridge and a walking trail near the river. This river is contained by humans and I don't think there will be much change I believe in the near future vegetation is going to be added to help fish in the area. Vegetation provides food for fish and shade for cooler waters.
