Counselling that honours your whole story
Our counselling service supports individuals, families, children and young people, and groups in ways that are trauma‑informed, strengths‑based, and culturally safe.
Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, your family, or your community, we meet you where you are, at your pace, in your own way.
Many of the people we see are carrying the impacts of trauma—recent or historical, visible or hidden.
Our counsellors work from a trauma‑informed approach that prioritises safety, trust, choice, and collaboration, always asking “What has happened to you?” rather than “What is wrong with you?”.
We also work from a strengths‑based lens.
This means we pay close attention to your skills, values, culture, relationships, and the ways you’ve survived so far, and we build on these strengths rather than focusing only on problems or symptoms.
Cultural safety is at the heart of how we practise.
We understand that experiences of racism, colonisation, and exclusion can shape how safe it feels to seek support, and we work with you to create a space where your identity, culture, language, and spiritual beliefs are respected and never questioned.
Our counsellors are committed to ongoing reflection about power, privilege, and their own assumptions, so that you remain the expert in your own life.
You decide what you share, when you share it, and what “feeling safer” or “doing better” looks like for you, your children, and your family.
We don’t see you as a diagnosis, a file, or a “presenting problem”.
Instead, we listen for the bigger picture of your life—your story, your culture, your relationships, and what matters most to you—and shape counselling around your goals.
Counselling might look like:
One‑to‑one sessions focused on your wellbeing, identity, or healing.
Family sessions that make space for everyone’s voice, including children and young people.
Group programs that build connection, skills, and shared understanding with others who “get it”.
Sessions can be gentle, creative, structured, or conversational, depending on what feels right for you.
We have particular experience working with children and young people in or at risk of out‑of‑home care, and with families navigating complex systems.
We work alongside you and your support network to build safety, strengthen relationships, and support healing in ways that fit your cultural, family, and community context.
