Tri-State Music Festival
We invite your participation!
The designers of the Tri-State Music Festival created this festival in order to cater to smaller programs. We do our best to accept at least two students from every program that submits nominations. We have remained true to this commitment for twenty-two years and will hold to it as long as the Festival exists. Also, we work very hard to find the absolute best educators/conductors to inspire your students. You can view our past conductors under "Former Clinicians" in the navigation index located on the left edge of the page.
Smaller programs should participate in the Tri-State Music Festival
Here are several reasons why you should select students to participate in this musical event.
Nominate two of your best students and we will take them. Nominate ten of your best students and we will take as many as we can fit into the instrumentation of a balanced ensemble.
Your program gets exactly the same privileges and representation as the big programs. We work hard to provide experiences for your students so that they return to you and positively affect your ensembles. Balancing the ensemble is a process based on selections made one musician at a time from each school in order of application receipt. Some preference is given to students based on the director's feedback and age indicated in the nomination form.
We welcome high school-age home-schooled and private-school musicians. If you would like to discuss our festival with me, feel free to call Scott Meier's cell phone at (814) 314-9834.
We understand that some of you are the only music teacher at your school, and that district activity may involve three or more travel weeks in a row. Your students can participate in this music festival and you can still teach Thursday and Friday. We accept parental check-in as long as we receive completed release forms and fees.
We provide the best clinicians in the business that we know well and can afford. There are no wild cards here. They have even come from the West Coast to help us out.
Members of our faculty and the guest clinician provide one-hour sessions on topics that are relevant to you and the art of teaching.
Larger programs should participate in the Tri-State Music Festival.

During this busy time of year, we are happy to supervise your students for their entire stay. You do not have to miss school unless, of course, you need a break.
We encourage you to send us those deserving students who did not get a district selection. Please use our festival to help inspire the best of your younger students and anyone who deserves the opportunity for further growth.
