Congratulations to the following students for placing on the state level on the School Bus Safety Poster Contest 2019. Kindergarten to 3rd grade and some of the JH students entered the poster contest earlier this spring.
The award ceremony was held at Michael J.Howlett Building in Springfield on October 22, 2019. The award were presented by Secretary of State Jesse White.

Winners in Grades 7-9 for the Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District poster contest:
The Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District celebrated Natural Resources Stewardship Week with the theme:
“Life In The Soil: Dig Deeper." This theme encouraged students to learn more about what lives in the soil to help soil to be healthy and productive.

Drake Condon received a Chapter JAC Award at the 7th grade level.
Jan 2019: 8th grade art student Katelyn Poe wanted to experiment with an independent project to try pour painting. After watching several videos on YouTube, she researched what materials to use and studied how other artists worked with this unique painting method. She was quite happy with her first attempt, and is looking forward to making more pieces and improving her technique.
Jan 2019: Congratulations to Erica Harrell, winner of the glass art drawing contest from Junior High category. Glass artist Corey Marek from Cullom awarded Erica with a piece of glass art made from her drawing.
Christmas concert decorations were made by 3rd grade students.
Christmas Art show was held by Art club and art studio time members.
Oct 2018: Tri-Point High School Spanish, Advanced Art, and JH Art Club traveled to Pilsen, Chicago to visit a bakery, go on a guided tour of local murals, have a meal together, and go through the Day of the Dead Exhibition at the National Museum of Mexican Art.

Governor Thomas Ford Chapter had a Youth Day on Sunday, April 15 at the First Presbyterian Church in Gibson City to honor all the chapter winners of the JAC contest, the American History Essay Contest, the DAR & SAR Good Citizens, teachers, and administrators.

The Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District recently celebrated Natural ResourcesStewardship Week. In honor of this observance, the District hosted a Poster Contest for all studentsin Livingston County. “Healthy Soils Are Full Of Life!” was the 2017 theme. This theme encouraged students to learn more about reasons for helping the soil to be healthy and productive. The following students will bereceiving awards for their creative abilities.
Two of our Junior High students were honored at an award reception for the American History Awards and Junior American Citizens Awards. Our 4th, 5th, and JH students entered the 100 years of National Park Service Poster Contest from Daughters of the American Revolution, Governor Thomas Ford Chapter, last fall. Congratulations for both students and we are thankful for the great opportunity from DAR.
