Frozen Alone
7-day Brackey's Game Jam
7-day Brackey's Game Jam
Frozen Alone was the first game that I published. I worked on a team of 3, including me, to make the game in a week for the Brackey's Game Jam.
Made in UE4, I worked with an audio producer and a 3D artist. During this project they made assets and uploaded them to a Google Drive folder. Afterwards, I would take the assets and integrate them into the game.
The video does not include audio but audio is present in the game, including footsteps, ambiance and cues all made by our audio producer and implemented by myself.

During development, my priority was to make sure my team members would have everything they needed. I started by creating a GDD for all of us to reference, this was especially important since neither of them owned UE4 and couldn't access the game. A Trello Board was also set up and we would use Discord to have meetings and message each other throughout development.
While working on the game, I also made and uploaded builds to our shared google drive folder so my team members had a chance to play through the game and give feedback on my design and how I implemented their assets. I quickly built a prototype of the gameplay and uploaded a build hours after our teams initial design meeting so we could assess if it was what we wanted.
While working on this game for the week time span I had two college classes that I was doing online. I was also visiting my girlfriend in Michigan and had to fly from Florida, where I attend Full Sail University. I was primarily working on the game when she went to work but had to put in more hours to make sure everything went smoothly. Working with a team remotely all while doing this meant that I was on the computer a lot, hopping from the game jam, to my school work, to getting off to spend time with my favorite playtester. Despite this I managed to get A+'s in both of my classes, publish my first game and get a kiss when it was all said and done.
