今回の企画で園庭の木々のことを調べ、本当にたくさんの木があることに改めて驚かされました。そして、これらの木々を植えてきた歴代の保育園の職員や保護者の方々の思いを追想し、長い歴史を感じるきっかけとなりました。

「十年樹木、百年樹人」という中国の言葉があります。『管子』という書物に、「一年先を思うなら穀物を植えるのがよい、10年先を思うなら木を植えるのがよい、それよりもずっと先の未来を思うなら人を育てるのがよい（「一年ノ計、莫如樹穀、十年ノ計、莫如樹木、終身ノ計、莫如樹人」）」という一節があることに由来するのだそうです。豊かな未来のために、木々を植え、よい保育を目指す朱い実保育園は、この言葉を体現する存在であったのだと再認識しました。

In this project, while investigating the trees in the garden, we were surprised that there are so many trees there, and thought on the efforts of successive nursery staff and parents who have planted them. It was an opportunity to recollect and feel a long history.

There is a Chinese saying, " For 10 years plant trees, for 100 years plant (educate) people." It comes from the sentences in the Guanzi, a Chinese classic, which say: if you think about one year ahead, you should plant grains, if you think about 10 years ahead, you should plant trees, and if you think about the future far ahead, you should raise people.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitudes to our nursery staff for planting trees looking ahead to the next decade, and always making every endeavor to offer good childcare looking toward the next century.
