Bruno is the main character from the game jam project Blight Isle. With this character I tried out a new texturing method that I ended up quite happy with, I used Krita and its more naturalistic brushes and tools to create his textures, which I think makes him stand out from my other characters made using tools like Aseprite. I also experimented with a different style of eye design, going with a more Muppet-esque design. I also knew that with the higher up, locked perspective camera we went with I could get away with cutting back on some details like the hands. The design direction I was given was to essentially make the opposite of an Animal Crossing character, so I went with a lanky, awkward character as opposed to the more small, rounded, simple designs present in Animal Crossing.Â

We started with Leorio as reference for the proportions, but I wanted to cut all the confidence out of his pose
