The Giving History page has been updated as of May 2024. Thank you for your support!
Travis Oducayen lived the majority of his life in Alameda, CA. He attended Bay Farm School, Lincoln Middle School, and Alameda High School. He loved sports and enjoyed playing soccer and basketball with local youth teams. In his middle and high school years, he often spent many afternoons at the golf course. Golf continued to be a mainstay in his life and he enjoyed many rounds with family and friends. He loved rooting for the Warriors with his beloved partner, Adriana, and playing with his faithful canine companion, Theo.
At age 27, Travis was diagnosed with Oligodendroglioma. This type of brain cancer is very rare, affecting only 1,000 people per year in the United States. Unfortunately, the standard care for this type of cancer has changed very little over the last twenty years. Travis was very private about his journey with this disease.
Through the foundation, we hope to give back to some of the organizations that provided Travis with joy and friendship. In addition, we would like to support more research on prevention and treatment options for brain cancer.
