Still, it's good to be reminded that UK adults spend an average of 8 hrs 41 mins on screens every day, and 4 hours of that on smartphone apps alone (mainly social media). That's about a third of each day checking apps. Do you need to rethink your social media habits and the amount of time you spend scrolling?"

I feel like I do spend a lot of time on social media, every chance I get I jump on my instagram and watch reels. But I am also raising a one year old so when I spend time with him I am not on my phone. I plan to use social media less and less as he gets older and become more engaged with sports that he might play or things that he wants to do.

It really surprised me that two third of Americans say social media has a negative effect on the way things are going in the country today. If this is the case then why are people still depended on it everyday? Why are we all using these platforms if they have such a negative impact on what are country deals with day to day?

In my opinion, social media impacts society in positive and negative ways. For instance it allows for people to connect, especially for me who has family in different states. We are able to keep up with things happening in each-others lives and see pictures on Facebook. For my family this is good because we all live so far away and it takes a lot to get us all together. However, negatively on society social media has been caused of numerous deaths due to bullying and harrassment online. It just makes you wonder if the lives that have been lost from online bullying would still be here if social media did not exist. It has a huge impact on users mental health and well being.

Lessons Learned
After this module I learned some things about myself. I waste a lot of time on social media when I could be doing more productive things. I also learned that social media is not always great. There is a lot of fake news and misunderstandings with social media. If used correctly it can be good. But social media can also be used and absused.
