For this project we had to research information security. I chose topics such as identity theft and ransom attack. After finding the articles we had to provide a brief summary about the articles. We also had to complete an online cyber security training through our school which we got a certificate for.

Three employees of Marylands Motor Vehicle Administration participated in fraudulent activity. They were selling drivers licenses and learners permits through social media. They were being sold fo $600 each. They facilitated the cheating by allowing others to impersonate at least 66 applicants during the written tests. We could stop this from happening in the future by keeping a more secure protocol for employees to follow in order to issue license's.

Frederick Health Medical Group has been a victim of a ransomware attack. They put all their systems offline and are working closely with cyber security teams to bring everything back online. In the future there should be better protected software in order to prevent hackers from being able to take over Health care systems. They should not allow emails to employees from outside domains.

What I learned: During this assignment I learned there is a lot going on in when it comes to hacking locally than what I knew about. It makes me concerned for the IT world. It is also scary how hackers can get into healthcare systems over and over. This is dangerous for patients and patient information.
