I will continue to update this page as I receive questions that might be pertinent to all students.
What are trips like?
Fun? Active? Exciting?
See for yourself!
Who organizes this trip?
Profe Acevedo is the teacher volunteer who organizes the students to go on this trip developed by the student travel company World Strides. This trip is NOT sponsored by the school or the district.
WorldStrides is responsible for hiring a tour director, hiring tour guides, getting all entrances, etc. All payments and insurance are through WorldStrides.
Can I earn college credit with this trip?
Yes! Students can earn up to 3 college credits when they take this trip and do additional work through WorldStrides.
Is there a limit to the number of students who can go on the trip?
Yes! I will stop registration at 25 students. Then, I will start a wait list. There might be a discount for registering early. Check the WorldStrides site for details.
Can other Leander ISD students go on the trip?
Yes, the trip is open to Leander ISD high school students. All students will need to submit two teacher recommendations. Please read the page titled "Is this trip a right fit for me" to ensure this trip is right for you!
Can parents go on the trip?
One of the reasons I organize this trip is to give students an opportunity to see the world with their peers, so this is a trip for students only.
Can students go on the trip even if I don't have any previous travel experience?
Absolutely! When we get closer to leaving for the trip, we'll start having mandatory meetings in which the travelers will get to know each other and will learn how to travel with a group, how to pack for the trip, etc. Please refer to th section Is this trip a right fit for me for more information.
