"I’ve been a fan of Q4OS for some time so TravelerOS appeals because I
use two PC workstations and two notebooks for my home business plus
occasionally I need to boot from third party hardware when I’m not at
home. It also made sense to use Q4OS as a base since it’s already
optimized for speed and efficiency. My own kit is a hybrid home built
test rig with Revenger MB, 16gb RAM and a series 6 i5 (cheap but
reliable), a Dell Vostro with 8gb and I3 10100 (my main workstation), a
Lenovo Ideapad i3, and Acer Nitro 15 with i7 and 16gb. I decided I
needed something a bit more permanent than a standard USB so I used a
Nvme Patriot P300 128g drive in a Infokit USB 3.1/type-c external
enclosure. The only glitch is sometimes it hangs at boot when switching
between hardware but always starts at the second attempt. In operation
everything works and the performance is first rate. I’ve customized
pretty much everything KDE permits and installed a variety of stuff I
need for work using either Synaptic or Flatpaks. The home website is
fairly comprehensive but there is always a doubt with these single
developer distros about how long they’re likely to be around. IMO since
there’s already a pĺatform for contact/discussion where TravelerOS is
mentioned on the Q4OS forum (plus an offer of support from their own
devs) it would be a good idea if Adrian could interact there and maybe answer a few user queries."
