Carrizo Plain National Monument Mountain Biking

Riding a mountain bike or e-bike on the Carrizo Plain is an excellent way to explore the many dirt roads and see things.

Mountain biking is permitted on the approximately 460 miles of existing public roads in Carrizo Plain National Monument. Throughout the Monument, bikes are treated like vehicles and must stay on designated roads. 

Please be sure to stay on the roads - I really enjoy exploring the many small side dirt roads where a car or truck might get stuck - you see a lot more on a bike and you don't need to worry about getting stuck in the mud or sand.
