第八節: 獨立步類
說明: 以獨立步形成之各種姿勢, 稱獨立步基本姿勢, 譯[should be 擇]其主要而實用者。 分別圖說爲次:
Section VIII: "Single leg stance" type of postures
Explanation:
Use the single leg stance with various kinds of postures for which the single leg stance type is suitable. Base the decision to use this type of stance on the primary application that is desired, using the following pictures and descriptions as a guide.
(一)︰獨立步上刺眼下提襠
1. 作法︰(甲)右獨立步上刺下提作法﹕ 由立正步法, 右腳外斜約三○度獨立坐腿支持全身。 左膝提平上頂,左腳下垂。 同時收胯舉掌, 右掌上刺高與眼平,右肩前順,左掌合于右肘內。 掌心向下, 兩手均成陰掌食指對準昇樑垂線﹐目視前掌﹐其完成姿勢如右圖58。(乙) 左獨立步上刺下提作法與(甲)同﹐惟左右相反。
2. 應用﹕對方由正面擊來,近接我身。 我用一 掌挑閞對方之手,用另一 掌上刺對方之眼。提起一膝上頂對方襠部。
3. 要領:頂頭豎項﹐垂肩墬肘空胸緊背, 腰勁下沉,氣沉丹田 ,貫注四肢,扣膝圓襠﹐掌刺膝頂與順肩收胯要協同一致。
(1) Single leg stance with stab to the eyes above and [knee] lifted to the groin below.
1. Action:
(a) Right single leg stance with stab above and lift below:
From the "attention posture", turn the right foot outward approximately 30 degrees, [and shift the weight onto the right foot] to stand the body's weight on one foot. Lift the left knee up to [hip] level to bump [the opponent's groin], with the left foot hanging down. At the same time that the hip [kua] draws inward, lift up the [right] palm and stab at eye level height. Allow the right shoulder to follow [forward], and position the left palm at the inside of the right elbow with the center of the palm facing downward. Both hands are using Yin palms with the index fingers [centered] on a line beneath the bridge of the nose. Look at the front palm, finishing the posture as shown in Figure (58).
(b) When doing left single leg stance with stab above and lift below, it is the same as in part (a), only with left and right reversed.
2. Use or Application:
If the opponent comes in with a strike from the front and is close to my body, I first use one palm to raise the opponent's hand to create an opening. I use the other palm to stab above at the opponent's eye, and I lift the knee up to the opponent's groin area.
3. Essential points:
Crown of the head pushing upward. Sink the shoulders and drop the elbows. Hollow the chest and tighten the back. Sink the waist jìng downward, and sink the Qi to the dan-tian. Concentrate on all four limbs of the body. Buckle the knees, and round between the thighs. Stabbing with the palm and raising the knee to bump [the opponent's groin] must happen in coordination with allowing the shoulder to go forward and withdrawing at the hip joint.

(二)﹕獨立步上刺喉下提襠
1. 作法︰(甲)左獨立步上刺喉下提襠作法, 其步法與 一 項同。左腳獨立坐腿支持全身, 左掌下按胸前, 掌心向下, 右掌由左掌上向前上方刺出, 高與口平,掌心向上, 食指對準鼻樑垂線, 右肩前順, 左肩合住, 目視右掌,其完成姿勢如右圖59。(乙)右獨立步上刺喉下提襠作法與(甲)同。惟左右相反。
2. 應用︰對方由正面擊來, 我近接對方用一掌撥按對方之手, 同時同另一掌刺對方喉部, 提膝頂擊對方襠部。
3. 要領: 掌刺 ,膝頂與順肩收胯要協同一 致,餘同一項三目。
(2) Single leg stance with stab to the throat above and [knee] lifted to the groin below.
1. Action:
(a) Left single leg stance with stab to the throat above and [knee] lifted to groin below:
Move into a single leg stance using the same method as in posture (1). Stand the body's weight on the left foot, and press the left palm down in front of the chest with the center of the palm facing downward. Stab the right palm forward over the left palm with the center of the palm facing upward, ending with the index finger at mouth level height and the index finger [centered] on a line beneath the bridge of the nose. Allow the right shoulder to go forward, and match with a corresponding movement of the left shoulder [to the back]. Look at the right palm, finishing the posture as shown in Figure (59).
(b) When doing right single leg stance with stab to the throat above and [knee] lifted to groin below, it is the same as in part (a), only with left and right reversed.
2. Use or Application:
If the opponent comes in with a strike from the front, I connect up close and use one palm to push aside and press the opponent's hand. At the same time, I use the other hand to stab the opponent's throat, and I lift the knee to strike their groin.
3. Essential points:
Stabbing with the palm and raising the knee must happen in coordination with allowing the shoulder to go forward and withdrawing at the hip joint. The rest of the essential points are the same as in the previous posture's item 3.
[Note: This posture is used in the Taijiquan posture 67, "Golden Cock Stands on One Leg".]

(三): 獨立步雲撥絆腿
1. 作法﹕(甲)左獨立掌向右雲撥腳向左絆腿作法﹕ 左腳外斜獨立不動扣膝坐腿支持全身,身左擰右轉﹐兩掌隨身左擰時向左上穿挑,繼隨身右轉時向右雲撥,右手豎掌向外與眼同高﹐左手陰掌撥按于右腋下,右腳隨身右轉時向左腿撥絆。目視右前如右圖60。(乙)右獨立步向左雲撥向右絆腿作法與(甲)同,惟左右相反。
2. 應用︰對方由正面擊來, 我近接對方用雙手雲撥對方身手引向側方﹐ 同時用一腳絆住對方腿步﹐使其跌倒。此爲八卦起式樁步。
3. 要領:雲撥、絆腿與轉腰要協同一致其餘要領同一項三目。
(3) Single leg stance with cloud hands and leg trip
1. Action:
(a) Left single leg stance with right cloud hands and leg trip towards the left:
Stand still on the left foot with the toes slanting outward, buckling the knee and sitting the whole body on the leg. Twist the body [at first] to the left, and then turn [the body] to the right. When the body twists to the left, lift and pierce both palms to the upper left. Then as the body turns to the right, continue to wave the hands to the right, ending with the right hand as a vertical palm facing outward and at eye level height. The left palm ends as a Yin palm pushing and pressing down under the right armpit. When the body turns to the right, push the right foot towards the left to trip the [the opponent's] leg. Look towards the front-right direction, as in Figure (60).
(b) When doing right single leg stance with cloud hands and leg trip towards the right, it is the same as in part (a), only with left and right reversed.
2. Use or Application:
If the opponent comes in with a strike from the front, I connect up close and use both cloud hands to push aside the opponent's body and hands, steering them to one side. At the same time, I use the foot to catch the opponent's leg as they step, causing them to stumble. This posture is used at the beginning of the Bagua form stepping pattern.
3. Essential points:
Pushing aside with the cloud hands and tripping the [opponent's] leg must happen in coordination with the waist turn. The rest of the essential points are the same as in the previous posture's item 3.

(四): 獨立步上打下蹬
1. 作法: (甲)左獨立步左拳上打右腳下蹬作法: 左腳獨立不動, 右腿提平以右腳跟向前蹬直, 同時右手向胸前採拉, 握成陽拳, 收置腰際, 左拳由右手上沖直, 高與肩平, 成立拳, 左拳尖及右腳跟上下對準鼻樑垂線, 目視左拳, 其完成姿勢如左圖61。 (乙)右獨立步右拳上打左腳下蹬作法與(甲)同,惟左右相反。
2. 應用: 對方由正面擊來, 我用一手撥開對方手腳, 同時用拳上打對方上部, 用一腳跟下蹬對方下部。
3. 要領: 拳打腳蹬與順肩收胯要協同一致。其餘要頜同一 項三目。
(4) Single leg stance with punch above and kick below
1. Action:
(a) Left single leg stance with left fist hitting above and right foot kicking below:
Stand still on the left foot, and lift the right leg to [hip] level with the right heel kicking straight forward. At the same time, pluck and pull the right fist in front of the chest, grasping it into a fist and withdrawing it as a Yang fist at the side of the waist. Punch the left fist straight forward, going over the right hand and ending at shoulder level height with a standing fist. The end of the left fist above and the heel of the right foot below are [centered] on a line beneath the bridge of the nose. Look towards the left fist, finishing the posture as in Figure (61).
(b) When doing right single leg stance right fist hitting above and left foot kicking below, it is the same as in part (a), only with left and right reversed.
2. Use or Application:
If the opponent comes in with a strike from the front, I use one hand to push aside the opponent's hand or foot to create an opening. At the same time, I use the upper fist to strike the opponent's upper body, and I use the bottom foot's heel to kick the opponent's lower body.
3. Essential points:
Punching the with fist and kicking with the foot must happen in coordination with the shoulder going forward and the hip joint withdrawing. The rest of the essential points are the same as in the previous posture's item 3.

(五): 獨立步上刺下踢﹕
1. 作法︰ (甲)左獨立步左掌上刺右腳前踢作法。 左腳獨立不動﹐ 右腳向前踢平, 同時右手由胸前採撥收置腰際成陽拳, 左掌由右掌上刺出高與肩平 , 成陽掌, 食指及右腳尖上下對準鼻樑垂線, 目視左掌﹐ 其完成姿勢如左圖62。 (乙)右獨立步右掌上刺左腳前踢作法與(甲)同, 惟左右相反。
2. 應用︰對方由正面擊來﹐ 我用一掌撥閞對方手腳, 同時用另一 掌刺對方上部, 用一 腳踢對方腹部。
3. 要領: 刺掌踢腳及順肩收胯要協同一致。 其餘耍領同一 項三目。
(5) Single leg stance with stab above and kick below
1. Action:
(a) Left single leg stance with left palm stabbing above and right foot kicking below:
Stand still on the left foot, and lift the right leg to [hip] level with the right foot kicking straight forward. At the same time, pluck and pull the right fist in front of the chest, grasping it into a fist and withdrawing it as a Yang fist at the side of the waist. Stab the left fist palm forward, going over the right hand and ending at shoulder level height with a Yang palm. The index finger of the left palm above and the toes of the right foot below are [centered] on a line beneath the bridge of the nose. Look towards the left palm, finishing the posture as in Figure (62).
(b) When doing right single leg stance with right palm stabbing above and left foot kicking below, it is the same as in part (a), only with left and right reversed.
2. Use or Application:
If the opponent comes in with a strike from the front, I use one hand to push aside the opponent's hand or foot to create an opening. At the same time, I use the upper palm to stab the opponent's upper body, and I use the bottom foot to kick the opponent's abdomen.
3. Essential points:
Stabbing the with palm and kicking with the foot must happen in coordination with the shoulder going forward and the hip joint withdrawing. The rest of the essential points are the same as in the previous posture's item 3.
[Note: The kick in this posture (踢) is like a swinging soccer kick using the top of the foot to hit the ball. The kick in the previous posture (蹬) is a heel kick that is like doing stomp in the air. I can't think of any form in the Chen Panling repertoire that uses this particular posture.]

(六): 獨立步上摟下撥
1. 作法﹕(甲)左獨立步右摟左撥作法︰左腳獨立不動︰雙手由胸前採握成拳﹐ 隨身右擰, 向身側右後摟去, 左拳置右乳前向上, 右拳垂直于後身虎口向前, 同時右腿提平用右腳向左蹬撥。目視右腳。 其完成姿勢如左圖63。(乙)右獨立步左摟右撥作法與(甲)同 ﹐惟左右相反。
2. 應用︰對方由正面擊來。 我用雙手由胸前採握對方之手身側斜摟。 同時用右腳蹬撥對方之腿, 使其前跌。
3. 要領:手摟腳撥與轉腰收胯要協同一致, 其餘要領同一 項三目。
(6) Single leg stance with pull above and [foot] pushing aside below
1. Action:
(a) Left single leg stance with right pull above and [foot] pushing aside to the left below:
Stand still on the left foot, grasping both hands into fists in front of the chest and pluck [yank]. [At the same time], twist the body to the right, and pull [the fists] to the side of the body towards the right rear. The left fist ends in front of the right side of the chest, and the right fist hangs straight down behind the body with the tiger's mouth facing forward. At the same, lift the right foot to hip level and use the right foot to [heel] kick and push towards the left. Look towards the right foot, finishing the posture as in Figure (63).
(b) When doing right single leg stance with left pull above and [foot] pushing aside to the right below, it is the same as in part (a), only with left and right reversed.
2. Use or Application:
If the opponent comes in with a strike from the front, I use both hands to grab and pluck [yank] the opponent's hand and pull them to the side of the body. At the same time, I use the right foot to kick and push aside the opponent's leg, causing them to stumble.
3. Essential points:
Pulling [with the hands] and kicking [with the foot] must happen in coordination with the waist turning and the hip joint withdrawing. The rest of the essential points are the same as in the previous posture's item 3.
[Note: The character for "drag" (摟) is the same as "embrace" or "brush", as in "brush knee twist step". It can mean to draw something in towards yourself or to embrace, but it can also mean to drag or pull. In this context, it seems like dragging.]

(七): 獨立步上架下摟膝頂
1. 作法︰(甲) 左獨立步上架下摟膝頂作法: 左腳獨立不動, 右手由右側向力後摟成鉤掌。 同時右掌由胸前上架於額前上方約半尺, 掌心向上, 同時收胯提右膝上頂。 目視右前。 其完成姿勢如右圖64。(乙)右獨立步上架下摟膝頂作法與(甲)同,惟左右相反。
2. 應用: 對方由正面擊來上打下踢﹐ 我用一手上架對方之手﹐ 一手下摟對方之腳, 同時用膝頂對方腹部。
3. 要領︰兩手上架下摟與收胯頂膝要協同一 致。 餘要領同一 項三目。
(7) Single leg stance with upper block, lower grab, and knee bump [to opponent's abdomen].
1. Action:
(a) Left single leg stance with upper block, lower grab, and knee bump [to opponent's abdomen]:
Stand still on the left foot, and grab with the right hand forcefully from the right side to the rear ending with a hooked palm. At the same time, move the left palm up in front of the chest and block upward, ending about a half Chinese foot (1/6 meter) away from in front of the forehead with the palm facing upward. At the same time, draw in [at the right] hip joint and lift the right knee up to bump [the opponent's abdomen]. Look towards the front right direction, finishing the posture as shown in Figure (64).
(b) When doing right single leg stance with upper block, lower grab, and knee bump [to opponent's abdomen], it is the same as in part (a), only with left and right reversed.
2. Use or Application:
If the opponent comes in with a strike from the front using an upper strike and lower kick, I use one hand to block the opponent's hand upward, and I use the other hand to grab the opponent's foot. At the same time, and I use the knee to bump the opponent's abdomen.
3. Essential points:
Blocking upward with the hand and grabbing with the hand must happen in coordination with withdrawing at the hip joint and raising the knee to bump [the opponent's abdomen]. The rest of the essential points are the same as in the previous posture's item 3.

(八): 獨立步上刺下踢
1. 作法︰(甲)左獨立步右掌刺右腳踢作法: 左腳獨立不動。 隨身右轉 , 右腳向身右側踢平﹐ 同時右手立掌向右側前刺。 左掌向左上方撐托豎起。 目視右掌。 其完成姿勢如右圖65 。 (乙)右獨立步左掌刺左腳踼作法與(甲)同﹐ 惟左右相反。
2. 應用︰對方由正面或側方擊來。 我側轉身腰﹐ 閃開對方手腳用一掌上刺其面, 一腳下踢其腹部。 另一手上撐護住側方平穩身勢。
3. 要領︰ 上刺下踢, 與轉身收胯要協同一 致 其餘要領一 項三目。
(8) Single leg stance with stab above and kick below
1. Action:
(a) Left single leg stance with right palm stabbing above and right foot kicking below:
Stand still on the left foot, turning the body to the right and kicking the right foot at [hip] level to the right side of the body. At the same time, stab the right hand to the front right using a standing palm, while blocking and bracing vertically to the upper left with the left palm. Look towards the right palm, finishing the posture as in Figure (65).
(b) When doing right single leg stance with left palm stabbing above and left foot kicking below, it is the same as in part (a), only with left and right reversed.
2. Use or Application:
If the opponent comes in with a strike from the front or perhaps the side, I turn the waist to the side to get out of the way of the opponent's hand or foot. I use one palm to stab above at their face, while I use the bottom foot to kick their abdomen. I also use the other hand to block and protect the side of the body, as well as to help stabilize the body [to help with balance].
3. Essential points:
Stabbing the with palm and kicking with the foot must happen in coordination with body turning and the hip joint withdrawing. The rest of the essential points are the same as in the previous posture's item 3.
