Posture 92. Step Back, Ride Tiger
(1) [Continuing] from the previous movement, relax the waist and slowly inhale. Twist the body towards the left, keeping both feet motionless but bending both knees to squat down. At the same time as the body twists, drop both palms down to the left to do a double pulling [lǒu] gesture. Look at both palms and face the northeast. After that, step back with the right foot and sit solidly on it, turning the body towards the right and turning the left toes inward. Face the east, as in Figure 275.
Figure 275
(2) [Continuing] from the previous movement, turn the body towards the right to face directly south. Turn the right heel inward and sit solidly on it. Take a half step up to the front with the left foot to end in a left empty stance [xū bù]. At the same time, separate both hands to the front and back as the body turns so that the right palm pulls [lǒu] across to the outside of the right knee. Then lift the [right] elbow, [changing the right hand] to a Yin palm that pierces forward. [Move] the left hand towards the rear to end in a hooked palm. Sink the Qi to the dan-tian, and then concentrate [the Qi] into both palms, as in Figure 276.
